In 2021, I suffered a distal triceps tendon tear, a rare injury that effectively disables the arm. It forced me to take time off from aerials. During this difficult time, I realized that my lifelong love of movement plus my anthropology education were leading me to my true path.

I’d already been teaching aerials, and I’d seen way too many instructors and coaches ignore kinesiology. On the flip side, many personal trainers and physical therapists had no idea what circus artists needed. I decided to bridge the gap and become a cirque-friendly functional fitness instructor. With a trauma-informed, body-positive approach, I can help acrobats — and all dancers — reclaim their strength and train in a way that makes sense to them.

Stay tuned!
